Amazon Lex is a fully managed AWS service for building conversational chat and voice interfaces into applications. It is powered by the same technology as Alexa and supports generative AI features, an automated chatbot designer that learns from conversation transcripts, and a Visual Conversation Builder.

Bots can be deployed to mobile devices and chat services such as Facebook Messenger, Slack and Twilio SMS, and Lex integrates natively with Amazon Connect for contact center use. Pricing is pay-as-you-go, metered per API request with no upfront commitment, and new accounts get a free tier for the first year.
