Privacy Policy

the30top is a B2B directory that publishes editorial rankings of service providers and software, supported by verified client reviews. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

• Account information. When you create an account we store your email address, name, and any profile details you add. Authentication is handled by our backend provider; we never store your password in readable form.
• Reviews. The content of any review you submit, the company it concerns, your ratings, and the identity details we need to mark you a verified reviewer.
• Provider claims. When you claim a company profile we record your work email, the company, and the outcome of our domain check.
• Match briefs and leads. When you use Get Matched we store the brief you submit — category, budget, timeline, requirements — and your contact details, so we can introduce you to providers.
• Usage analytics. Aggregate, largely anonymous information about pages viewed, referrers, and device type.

We use your data to operate the site: to publish reviews, to run the ranking and claiming systems, to connect buyers with providers, to send you transactional messages about something you started, and to understand which parts of the site are useful. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to influence rankings.

We use a small number of cookies and equivalent browser storage: strictly necessary ones that keep you signed in and remember interface state such as your comparison selection, and analytics cookies that help us measure traffic. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though signed-in features will stop working if you block the necessary ones.

Our database, authentication, and file storage are provided by Supabase, which processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments. We also use standard hosting and analytics infrastructure. We share your data with these processors only to the extent needed to run the service, and with a provider only when you have explicitly asked us to introduce you.

Published reviews and company profiles are kept for as long as they are relevant to readers. Account data is kept while your account is active. Match briefs and claim records are kept for up to 24 months so we can support the introductions they created, then deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete anything sooner.

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account removes your profile and contact details; published reviews may be retained in anonymised form where removing them would distort a company's record. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
