Overview

For organisations standardised on Service Cloud, Agentforce removes an entire class of integration and data-governance problems: the agent reads case history, entitlements and knowledge articles directly, and inherits Salesforce's permissions and audit model. That shortens security review dramatically. The pricing is the catch and buyers consistently underestimate it — roughly $2.00 per conversation, charged whether or not the issue is resolved. Against Fin's $0.99 per resolution, a 60% resolution rate means you pay about 3.4x more per actual outcome. The capability gap does not justify that, so this is an incumbency purchase, not a best-product one.

Our verdict

Buy it because Salesforce is your system of record and security review matters, not because it is the best agent. Model the per-conversation cost honestly first: at typical resolution rates it costs several times more per resolved issue than Fin, which also runs on Salesforce.

Best for

Enterprises on Service Cloud where security review and data governance outweigh cost per resolution.

Avoid if

Cost per resolved issue is your priority — Fin on Salesforce is cheaper and resolves more.

  • Broadest compliance and data-residency coverage available
  • Inherits existing Salesforce permissions and audit trail

Cons

Frequently asked questions

How much does Agentforce Service Agent cost?

Roughly $2.00 per conversation on top of a Service Cloud licence, or via Flex Credits. Crucially it bills per conversation, not per resolution, so unresolved conversations still cost you.

Why is per-conversation billing more expensive?

You pay for failures as well as successes. At a 60% resolution rate, $2.00 per conversation works out around $3.33 per actual resolution — over three times Fin's $0.99 per resolution.

Should I use Agentforce or Fin on Salesforce?

Fin runs standalone on Salesforce, resolves more complex cases and bills per resolution. Choose Agentforce when native data governance and a single-vendor security review outweigh cost per outcome.
