About
Cosmos SDK is an open-source modular framework for building application-specific Layer 1 blockchains with native IBC interoperability.
The Cosmos SDK is a modular, open-source blockchain SDK for building secure, high-performance Layer 1 chains. It ships with predefined modules for standard blockchain functionality, and developers can write custom modules for their own use case. The project reports use by 200+ chains in production.
Chains built with the SDK get interoperability through the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC). The SDK works with any consensus engine, and CometBFT is the recommended option. Cosmos Labs maintains the core Cosmos Stack components, including the SDK, CometBFT, IBC and Cosmos EVM.
