Powabase

Powabase is a backend-as-a-service platform for AI applications, combining Postgres databases, retrieval-augmented generation, and an agent runtime. Each project gets a dedicated Postgres instance with row-level security, authentication, object storage, and real-time capabilities, accessible via PostgREST, REST, GraphQL APIs, or direct connections. Its retrieval system processes documents like PDFs, images, and URLs using OCR, chunking, embedding, and indexing. Supported algorithms include BM25, pgvector, hybrid search, and reranking. The agent runtime enables ReAct orchestrations to coordinate language models, knowledge bases, and tools, with streaming responses and detailed logging. Visual workflows connect triggers, agents, and HTTP calls, aided by natural-language assistance. Powabase integrates with providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, encrypts API keys at rest, and offers deployment via managed cloud, self-hosting, or bring-your-own-keys setups.
