Azure API Management is a cloud service from Microsoft for publishing APIs to developers, partners and internal teams. It provides a gateway that sits in front of backend services, with policies for security, transformation and throttling, plus tools to monitor usage.

Azure offers several service tiers. The Consumption tier is a lightweight, serverless option billed per execution with automatic scaling, and the first one million API operations per subscription are included. Other tiers add capabilities such as a developer portal, virtual network support and multi-region deployment.
