About
Shudu is billed as the world's first digital supermodel. She was created in 2017 by British photographer Cameron-James Wilson, who later founded the digital modelling agency The Diigitals. Wilson has said he built her using Daz 3D, with Clo3D for clothing and Photoshop for finishing, and he has also used Blender. Shudu went viral in 2018 when Fenty Beauty shared an image of her, and she later appeared in Balmain's virtual model campaign. Her lifelike look, inspired by South African beauty, sparked a wider debate about a white creator profiting from a digital Black woman, which Wilson has addressed publicly. With about 240,000 Instagram followers, Shudu remains a key reference for high-fashion realism in virtual modelling.
